tail - duck quill yellow
body - grey yarn
body hackle - yellow
front hackle - orange
wing - barred woodduck
topping - bronze mallard
head - ostrich herl
mash barb, start thread, tie in tinsel, wrap to bend; 2 wraps of tinsel, tie off/trim
tie in floss, wrap to tinsel and back; tie off/trim
measure (hook length) 2 quill segments; tie in
tie in (folded) hackle by tip
tie in yarn 1 eye width back from eye; wrap to tag and back, tie off/trim
wrap hackle forward, sweeping fibers back/down
tie in front hackle by tip; a couple turns, tie off/trim
stroke fibers down, cover with thread wraps
prep barred woodduck segments, measure (tips to bend), fold/pinch, wax thread, tie in/trim
prep a bronze mallard segment, measure (tips a bit past wing, fold/pinch, wax thread, tie in/trim
tie in a couple peacock herls
