kind of self-explanatory, right? We seem to have some impressive thread-wrappers that lurk around this board. let's try to keep your "first booger" posts at a minimum.

Here's one variation on a common theme. Tied as a PMD (probably a bit late in the season); change colors to suit your needs. ILR stands for "I love rabbit", by the way.

hook - Dai Riki 125 #16
thread - UTC 70 yellow
shuck - Congo Hair amber
rib - x-small wire copper
tail/abdomen - pheasant tail
wingcase/wing - snowshoe rabbit
thorax - superfine dubbing PMD

Mash down barb, start thread at 60% mark

Image

tie in rib, tie in shuck; wrap back halfway down the bend

Image

Image

trim shuck (gap width), tie in a few pheasant tail fibers (extend shank length)

Image

wrap pheasant up to 60% mark

Image

counterwrap ribbing, helicopter end and smooth with thread

Image

clean, stack, measure (1.5 shank) a clump of snowshoe hare hair; tie in, trim butts

Image

Image

dub thread, dub thorax

Image

Image

pull wing forward over thorax, tie down; pull wing up and set angle with thread wraps in front

half hitch x 2, SHHAN
