kind of self-explanatory, right? We seem to have some impressive thread-wrappers that lurk around this board. let's try to keep your "first booger" posts at a minimum.

If it's the long, translucent type, anything you'd use white bucktail for, ends up looking really cool.

Some of it is, and some of it is chartreuse, pink, and bronze.

Long time ago my pops found a cool fly tying travel cabinet at a garage sale and gave it to me. I was moving around a lot at the time and it was perfect. It had a million drawers, a cool tray that slid out, and folded up into a square box. In one of the drawers I found a patch of said translucent blond fur. I let it sit on my table for years. It made me think of my pops and his crazy luck when it comes to garage sales. It was just too nice for my tying abilities.

Last year when I was getting ready for a trip to the dry line mecca known as teh nump I decided to break out a bit. Tied up what I felt like was a tasty little green butt skunk.

First morning on the river I rigged up a killer 15' mono leader on my full line. All was right in the world as I cast across the river to a perfect bucket still in the shade.

3' too long. Fly lands on the rocks and the point breaks off before the fly ever got wet.

Fuck.

Despite the flies inglorious end I kept it on my dash. It still made me happy.

Then one day I gave Mitch a ride home from a bake and he used it to clean beef jerky from his teef.
