Flewf for the first time in a year and went down to Hatteras to see some family. Flights were 25-50% full and people seemed pretty calm.

Opened the 2021 account in 18 degree weather. I committed to a full day of traditional euro style, long leader, sighter material, etc. I definitely pulled a lot of fish, but it just wasn’t terribly satisfying. But, beers with the buddies back at the lot made up for it.

I’m glad my opinions are shared. The only argument I’ve ever heard in its favor is its fish catching ability. That’s precisely the opposite reason I picked up a fly rod in the first place. I like hunting for one.
