kind of self-explanatory, right? We seem to have some impressive thread-wrappers that lurk around this board. let's try to keep your "first booger" posts at a minimum.

It's to rye bread what schnitzel is to chicken fried steak.

Mine will be Russ Maddin's south bound trucker in white/grizz. It is a nice darty little summer pattern to fish on a floating line.

Recipe: Grandma Lucille's strawberry rhubarb pie. The last one she ever made me was on a June weekend in 2013. There was a big front moving through northern MI and my brother and I had a barn burner of a day with the above fly (but in the OG olive/brown/white chestnut lamprey color scheme) as the water was coming up quick on the PM. I didn't know it at the time but in many ways that summer was the end of the good ol' days, as they were.

I've got all my materials. Does that count for something? The fly tying should commence sometime this week.

If my flies happen to be too big for any of you guys, please feel free to send them back and I’ll trade them out for a clouser or mud bug.

I’m this far on the second half....

I’m on fly 10 and my brains already in full monkey with symbols mode. I don’t know how professional tiers do this every day.

That's no joke. For intricate flies, after a couple, I'm done. For simple stuff like midges, I'm bored after the first dozen. I guess professional tiers have the ability to get in the zone and it doesn't bother them after a while.

I'm almost finished tying my flies. What is the protocol for the recipe trading?

Send an electronic copy VIA flash drive shipped with the flies? Then the swapmeister will have to transfer all the files to his computer and then to each of the drives.

Recipe on paper with multiple copies sent with the flies. Then the swapmeister will divvy up the copies along with the flies.

Just post them up here and everyone just copy/paste from the thread?

What say you guys?
