Decided to do something different in the new year after eating so much great food last year and stopped by a spot to get a shitty cheese steak and was delighted to see that gold really does exist at the end of the rainbow.

Beware of culinary school. It costs money and what you get out of it, if your lucky is a 6 -7 day a week job working 12+ hours a day for near minimum wage. My son's choice was to apprentice on the job at a Michelin 3 star restaurant and he got his chops (pun intended) that way.
No debt, but the job was killing him. He made it to chef at a good restaurant and a Sous chef in one of the 10 best restaurants inthe world, and as an executive Sous Chef at a Micheline 2 star restaurant. The food was great, the hours were killing him. Family, what family??? Fishing... no time!

Now if you are independently wealthy and want to go to culinary school to learn, go for it, but a career as a cook leaves a lot to be desired.
