It is kindve the opposite down here: very few birds in my area this year! Not prairie birds (sage grouse, sharptail, and huns)., anyway. By all reports the mountain grouse numbers (ruffeds and blues) are very high, but I dont really hunt them - tho, I did ground sluice a couple ruffed grouse behind my house on my property a couple days, first year in 3 I have had grouse behind the house (I wont shoot any more of them back there, but they taste good). I lucked out with a lot of birds last season so my young one got the experience she needed

The pointing dog thing is to run 5000000 miles an hour to the ends of the earth then just then stop on a dime and hold til the end of time when they are sure!
